A Message from Jim Dean, Chairman, Democracy for America
I remember very well what it felt like when my brother Howard didn't win the Democratic nomination in 2004. It hurt. I was angry. I found myself wondering how I could turn around and support a candidate who I had just spent over a year trying to defeat.As you probably know, I supported John Edwards until he dropped out of the race. Then I chose to support Obama. Jim Dean asks us to find 5 people who supported someone other than Obama, and pass this message on to them. So, tell me, are there 5 such people out there who will see this from me? If so, will you take the pledge for party unity as well?

We all worked hard for the candidate we thought was the best person for the job. Now the Democratic party nominee is decided, and the truly important battle begins. Ultimately, what we do now affects the future of this nation in profound ways that we can barely begin to understand.
